Quotable Quote

" I bend to sweep crumbs and I bend to wipe vomit and I bend to pick up
little ones and wipe away tears... And at the end of these days I bend next to
the bed and I ask only that I could bend more, bend lower. Because I serve a
Savior who came to be a servant. He lived bent low. And bent down here is where I see His face. And people say, “Don’t you get tired?” and yes, I do. But I’m face to face with Jesus in the dirt, and the more I bend the harder and better and fuller this life gets. And sure, we are tired, but oh we are happy. Because bent down low is where we find fullness
of Joy.” ― Katie J.Davis

I hate posts without pics....

But I am forcing myself to update at this point without them. I got them all prepared and now I can't find my camera chip so this will be a pic-less post.

It was Ryan's birthday yesterday. I cannot believe I am married to a 30 year old. That sounds ancient. I know it is still young, but it just seems old. We also celebrated our 8th anniversary yesterday. It is so nice to just be in a groove and be comfortable with each other and not worry about all the stuff you worry about when you're dating. I remember going to the Olive Garden when we were dating and getting the Alfredo pizza even though I really wanted the Alfredo pasta, because I was so freaked out that the pasta would be too messy to eat. Ha Ha. What a joke! Now I have no shame. We went to Chuck-A-Rama last night and I went back a ton of times for more food. It's nice to just love each other and not worry about what each other thinks as much. I know I am just rambling. Anyway the kids and I made Ryan a cake and then Gavin came over to play and we just had a good time. After we put the kids in bed, Grandpa watched while we went out to eat. Ryan spent the meal time begging me to go price PS3's with him. I have never even heard of them. I utterly refused his requests so we went home and he watched football while I read The Da Vinci Code.

Ok, better posts coming soon.

p.s Ryan was kind enough to buy me roses and my favorite chocolates to celebrate our anniv.

A Day Late And A Couple 100 Short.....

That is how I feel today. It is December 8th and I still haven't posted about Halloween. So here goes. Hopefully I can get up to date soon. These are my little babies walking Gracie to school on Oct 30th.
We stayed for the costume parade. This is typical Gracie style....so demure and behaved....lol.
Breck freaked out when he found out that he couldn't join in the parade and Gracie wasn't coming home with us. ;-)
Halloween night as we head out......

The Little Mermaid

Ryan, Gracie, Ava, and I went and saw 'The Little Mermaid' at Kingsbury Hall on Saturday. It was the original story. So instead of being named Ariel her name was Aquaria. It was good, but odd. I have no clue what really happened in the end. I think that Aquaria died and went to heaven to be with her mom. I bought the tickets about 3 months ago, so we were in the front row. It was good to get out.

Chuckie Cheese

For Ava's 4th birthday. We spent a good 130.00 dollars on pizza, drinks, and tokens for everyone! I sure as *&%$ hope everyone had fun for that price!!! I know I did. Gavin and Breck...it looks like Gavin might be a more responsible driver when he gets older...His tongue looks like he is really concentrating.
There Breck is again.....flipping stations when he should have his eyes on the road! ;-)
Thank you everyone for coming and for the nice gifts!!!

Thanksgiving Point

I've noticed that everyone already has Halloween covered. Well I am behind the times and still back in August...I will get caught up someday! Ryan gets tickets every August from his work for about 10 different places around the valley. Thanksgiving Point is one of them. We went to the dinosaur museum, but I left my camera in the car. The next 6 pics are at farm country.
This colt was WAY smaller in real life. So cute!
This bottom pic is of Ashley and Aspen at Thanksgiving Point Gardens. I took a ton of pics but can't find the rest. Oh well! It was fun. We brought a picnic and just enjoyed how beautiful it was!

She Thinks She's A Rebel...

But she is far from it! I am way behind on my posting and will try and get caught up. I just had to post first things first. Brag Brag I know....but my model student was student of the month in August. How that is possible with only 4 days of school in the month of August is beyond me...but she brought home her award and a darling stuffed bear to prove it. I was prouder then a peacock to say the least. She has gone to two years of preschool and both of her preschool teachers have always said "She is such a good example to the other kids." I think because she is so shy she just sits quietly and behaves. That's how I was in school and she is just like me.
Anyway, so not only is she beautiful but she is a good student! Ok I'm done bragging....for now!

A Special Garden

This reminds me of RS but could be used for anything.
A Special Garden
Plant three rows of Peas:
Peace of mind
Peace of heart
Peace of soul
Plant four rows of squash:
Squash gossip
Squash indifference
Squash grumbling
Squash selfishness
Plant four rows of lettuce:
Lettuce be faithful
Lettuce be kind
Lettuce be obedient
Lettuce really love one another
No garden without turnips:
Turnip for meetings
Turnip for service
Turnip to help one another
Water freely with patience and cultivate with love.Remember, you reap what you sow!
Don't forget that every garden must have thyme:
Thyme for love
Thyme for hope
Thyme for joy

Ingredients:

2 Tb olive oil
1 lb. smoked kielbasa sausage, cut into 1/2 inch slices (I used turkey and it tasted fine, but less fat)
2 cans diced tomatoes, undrained.
1 can chili with beans
1 can black beans, drained
1 can corn, drained
1 can sliced olives, drained.

Directions:

Brown sausage in oil. Add all other ingredients and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 8-10 minutes or until heated through.

Add cheese or sour cream on top to taste if desired!

Say No To Ponyo!

Gracie and I went out for her special day today. She picks what we do and she decided she wanted to go to the "movies at the mall" and see Ponyo! WHY didn't somebody tell me it was Japanese animation? It was a really bizarre show. I thought it was going to be like Nemo's long lost cousin or something---not a chance. So please unless you like cheap animation and a really weird plot don't go see this movie.
