Well I completed my first 5K this morning. Woo Hoo! For those of you who don't know how much 5K is it's 3 miles. Ryan was under the impression that it was 5 miles. Not quite! Someday, but not quite. Anyway, it was 20 bucks and the proceeds went to SPEAK, which is an organization that helps people get educated about eating disorders. It was sponsered by Wasatch Woman's Magazine and was on the U of U campus. I completed it in 42 minutes, which I was happy about. I told myself no more then an hour, so I was pleasantly surprised. When I say happy about it you have to understand that I am just getting into running after a LONG stint of NOT getting on the treadmill---so 42 minutes is good for me!
Quotable Quote
" I bend to sweep crumbs and I bend to wipe vomit and I bend to pick up
little ones and wipe away tears... And at the end of these days I bend next to
the bed and I ask only that I could bend more, bend lower. Because I serve a
Savior who came to be a servant. He lived bent low. And bent down here is where I see His face. And people say, “Don’t you get tired?” and yes, I do. But I’m face to face with Jesus in the dirt, and the more I bend the harder and better and fuller this life gets. And sure, we are tired, but oh we are happy. Because bent down low is where we find fullness
of Joy.” ― Katie J.Davis

I am so proud of you. I lost the knob that holds my tread mill up. I probably threw it away too. So I cant close it up without worrying it might fall on some kid. I need to use mine and get rid of the bird lol...annie
Definitely get rid of the bird first. Then you can enjoy the treadmill! :-)
I had no idea you were even training for something like that. Awesome! A 5K would probably put me into cardiac arrest. Seriously, LOL!
Like I told you I didn't know you
could even walk 3 miles, let alone
run. WOW !! I have wanted to start
walking around the block a couple
of times a day, now I must do it.
You are my inspiration.
Love, mom
