Quotable Quote

" I bend to sweep crumbs and I bend to wipe vomit and I bend to pick up
little ones and wipe away tears... And at the end of these days I bend next to
the bed and I ask only that I could bend more, bend lower. Because I serve a
Savior who came to be a servant. He lived bent low. And bent down here is where I see His face. And people say, “Don’t you get tired?” and yes, I do. But I’m face to face with Jesus in the dirt, and the more I bend the harder and better and fuller this life gets. And sure, we are tired, but oh we are happy. Because bent down low is where we find fullness
of Joy.” ― Katie J.Davis

Oquirrh Mountain Temple

So the pictures are small and annoying--I do like the one that shows the Draper temple in the background though. Ryan, the kids, and I went to the Oquirrh temple open house back in July. I thought it was very cozy inside. There was a lot of brown, which made it seem warm and inviting. There was also a lot of huge, beautiful flower arrangements---which I just love.
Anyway, on Sunday Ryan was kind enough to stay home with the kids while I went to the temple dedication. It was so awesome! The spirit was so strong! Whenever you go into a temple you can just feel the spirit. It is so obvious that temple work is true and important. I remember driving home from the Provo temple one evening (before we had kids of course) --- I was alone (Ryan was at work) and my mind got off on celebrities. I started thinking about how some people supposedly have it all, and yet they have so little really. It just made me feel humble and grateful to be apart of the gospel.
President Monson said something that stood out to me. Just paraphrasing he said..."We have a room in our home for eating, a room for sleeping and a room for recreation....but do we have room in our home for the Savior? We have time in our lives for golfing, time for surfing the internet, time for shopping, but do we have time for the Savior?" That is a rough draft of what he said, but the message to me was----take time for spiritual things such as temple attendance.

Annual Campout

I say annual, because at the most we go camping annually. We have gone about 4-5 times in our whole marriage. Isn't that sad? We both really love camping too, but you know how time just flies and it doesn't happen. Anyway, we went with Ryan's parents for a few nights up on Skyline Drive. It was so pretty. There were some campers that spotted a bear right in the middle of the trail where we went four wheeling. There were a bunch of cows too. Zuka really wanted to play with the baby cows, but the mama cows didn't like that very much! We went to Gooseberry lake. We saw a black snake and Ava got a leach on her. Not to mention all the MUD!

Grandma always has good food.....who would be prepared enough to have waffle cones on a camping trip? She is such a great grammie!

My Food Obsession

Can you not see that I have always been obsessed with food? Look at me! I wouldn't even take my eyes off the cookie to say "cheese." I don't know why not as cheese is one of my many pitfalls on my way to a slimmer me. I was probably debating whether the calories were worth it even back then. Jackie is in the white by me, holding her bottle. Trevan is so cute right there in front of me. Of course Claudia, Spencer and Tina L-R, with the girls looking very 80's. Anyway, I haven't posted in awhile and although I have a lot of recent pictures that I could post about I came across this one and had to laugh. I am supposed to be doing major homework today while Ryan has the kids so I better get to it!

Have a great day everyone!

Tina's 10x20 Storyboards

You will probably have to click on these to get a better view. They are fun though.

Young Living Lavender 5k On July 11th

Yes, you read that right. I am STILL STILL STILL doing 5k's. Is this sad? I think so! When will I be more consistent and move on to 10ks or more? I utterly refuse to admit my time on it because it was more than last time. That is what happens when you take a 9 month hiatus. We got to run through the lavender fields, which was very beautiful considering my fav. color is lavender. I have been doing much better getting out in the morning and running (did I say running---I meant jogging---slowly), so I must say I am proud about that, but still disappointed in my lack of commitment and will power.

Happy 1st Birthday Zuka

Ava claimed Zuka for her own the second we got him home and she still can't get enough of him. His birthday is July 28th, but who knows if I will be able to post anything that day or not. It has been touch and go considering our computer isn't even living in the same house as we are. Ok, Ok so I'll admit he's not quite as cute as he used to be, but still SO sweet.

Freedom Festival

I am so behind on my blog and the going on's of my life. This is one of the many posts waiting in the wings. The kids and I went to the Freedom Festival downtown to celebrate the 4th weekend. The girls made bead bracelets, doorknob hangers, and got their faces painted. Along with jumping on the inflatable slide. I bought one pair of earrings that are really cute. I wish I could have bought 10 from that booth.
Snow cones! Yum! Gracie dropped hers right off the bat, but Ava is such a good sharer. She will always share anything I ask, so Gracie was in luck.
I have no clue who the meditating man is. Notice the snow cone at G's feet.
Breck didn't want to leave! ;-) That, or he is crying tears of joy that he doesn't have to be pushed around in the blazing heat looking at a bunch of people's jiggly butts anymore! I was so frusturated with Breck's crying and my children in their sticky, hot, annoying glory that I left the stroller right on Center street and drove off! FREAK!

Just 2 More Cute Ones

Tina's Fam and the Cutest Lil Cowboy

Ok, who can deny that this little Ty isn't the cutest cowboy in the world? I took some pics of Tina's (my sis) family. These are just a few.
Look at how adorable Sugar's little face is.
Even Bruno is smiling.
